The Red Chair Project

The following images are excepts from my project titled “The Red Chair Project.” This collection has been one of my most rewarding endeavors thus far in my photography journey. I began with the idea of photographing people who had impacted my life in some way. From there, I wanted to find a way to represent each person and a unique trait about them.
As a whole, the project contains diverse symbolism, starting with the red chair as a representation of my life and the people who have been in it. Similarly, each person either holds or wears something that represents a trait about them - for example, a musician holds their instrument, or photographers have their cameras. The cats of course are themselves because I cannot accurately represent my life without them.  All images were photographed in my garage with a backdrop and two remote-triggered speed lights.
